Google Chrome

Superior browsing experience:

The tab browsing of Google chrome is much superior compared to other browsers, because the each tab of Chrome is in itself a separate browser. The tabs of the Chrome in the browser window act as a group of browsers rather as a group of tabs in a browser. Users can separate and combine the tabs by simply dragging out and in of the window to have a multiple browsing windows or a single window with multiple tabs. In case of accidental shutdown or closing down of windows, there is an option that helps the users to retrieve the recently closed tabs, in no time without losing data.

V8 JavaScript Engine:

Google Chrome has put the tabs on the top of the browser window to simplify it. Each tab has its own process which does not interfere with one another during browsing. They have created a unique v8 JavaScript to enable this multi tab multi processing task to run faster and safer. Besides, these tabs does not share information among themselves since they run as individual tabs, unlike other browsers. So malware from one tab cannot infiltrate into other tabs, by this way it provides more security compared to other browsers. Even if a tab crashes due to some malfunction it does not take other tabs with it, which gives incessant browsing experience. And the designer says this kind of multi threading helps in the optimal use of memory.

A Design for individual and organization:

Google chrome used AJAX and web 2.0 applications in design to make it as a front end to run web-based services and applications Gmail, Google Calendar and any other Web-based application which are widely used by organization and individuals.

Simple and explicit Downloads:

Google chrome downloads help the users in easy download and view. When you download a file from the web, you can see a small icon at the bottom to the left of the browser which is called as download bar in chrome. After download it shows the downloaded file with options like open file, open folder containing the file. The download manager and the personal downloads page are the same when you go the personal download page you can find the location of the downloaded file along with date of downloads. As a download manager it helps to pause and resume the downloads without the fear of losing data or file.

Ultimate Security:

Google has incorporated all the essential security needs in its chrome browser; it has an antiphishing tool and a pop-up blocker. The Chrome browser cautions the users when there is a phishing attack from the visiting site, with a warning screen that show “Warning: suspected phishing site” this helps users to steer away from bad sites. But it has two options that allow the users to proceed despite of safety warning or to close the tab.

Chrome does not allow any pop-up to open up without the user’s approval, a message at the bottom of the screen says about the pop-up block. If the users wish to see the pop-up he can do so by a click on the message.

Google has introduced an incognito mode. When the user close the screen in this mode all the temporary internet files, cookies, history, download details and other data related to browsing will disappear. This is similar to that of private browsing of Apple’s Safari, Mozilla Firefox 3.5, Opera 10.5, and Internet Explorer 8.

Google expands its security by running each tab through a dedicated sandbox. These sandboxes have no access to hard drive. This means the browsing is separated from the other areas of the system; this gives a total security from malware intrusion in to the hard drive.

A run into the Google Chrome Features:

1. V8, JavaScript that gives twice the speed and security compared to its counterparts.

2. Sandbox – Every tab used acts as an individual browser and it does not connect to the PC, prevents malware infection.

3. Task manager – it shows the memory used by websites, helps in closing unwanted websites to increase the speed.

4. Thumbnails of most visited websites that opens up in a push.

5. Omnibox does a double act of an address bar and a search bar.

6. Incognito mode that restricts the cookies and temporary files into the browser.

7. Simple interface that is not clogged by various bars.

8. An easy and effective download option.

9. Large content screen – a comprehensive browsing experience

10. Themes to delight and suit the users.

Limitations of Google Chrome:

In the name of simplicity they have limited the features; some important features like RSS reader, Bookmarks Manager are missing in the chrome. The chrome browser lacks in many useful extensions that are most common in other browsers.

Google Chrome is surely an enchantment for the users who desire a stable browsing experience; it may have flaws, which I hope will be addressed in the future versions of the browser. When comparing the efficiency, design, speed, security, innovation and the simplicity, it is pretty much clear that Google is going to absolutely transfigure the browsing experience in the years to come.
